Penalty Rates

My blogs are to expose and inform to tell as it is, mostly activities Downunder, and potential threats to Australians, we can not be too complacent read them with an open mind, if there is a subject you would like me to comment on, please send me a message. see also muslimblast.blogspot.com.au

LABOR DAY Public Hollidays

As I see it, the penalty rates imposed on businesses, is a drain on our economy, with emphases on attracting Tourism we should abolish Penalty Rates, and make it a level playing field, Many Restaurants and Coffee shops need to be open to service those having a day off, Businesses having to Open weekends and Public Holidays are already penalized.

Young travellers coming to Australia on working Visas are happy to work on Public Holidays, and they do not need the Penalty rates to encourage them to work. I also see it as selfish and only benefits a few, and has a negative effect on those who would be happy to work at a standard rate of pay.

When Businesses have to stay closed because they are unable to afford the penalty rates, this does not do service to Australians and Tourist, considering most Asian and many European countries open seven days a week and dont close till late at night or early morning and dont get penalty rates, we must service the Australian Public and the Tourist Industry as least expensive as possible.

We Australians should do whatever we can to encourage tourist to come to Australia.
Western Australia cost of living is the highest in the world, so why burden People and Business with an extra penalty.

Ive spoken to Tourist coming to Fremantle, and most of them say Australia is too expensive, we are pricing our selves out of the Tourist Market, by over charging and our high cost of living is because we had a Mining Boom, also the carbon tax, and now we all have to suffer, we need to reduce our cost of living and wages to come more in line with Asia, how can we compete, Australians would all be better off by increasing turnover, this would create more jobs, increased turnover would bring down our cost and create more employment, with turnover we can charge less.
To do this we need to encourage Tourist but they wont come here in numbers until the cost of living comes down, we should sacrifice a little now for a better future, those on a minimum wage and pensions should not be effected, only those on a substantial wage should reduce their wages, starting at the top.
