COUCHSURFING run by a company called couchsurfing.org
This company I believe is good and means well, this is not about them, but they don't know all there customers very well and those they support, you have to live with someone for more than a few days to get to know them.
I believe they are supporting Bludgers and free loaders, from my experience, I registered so as to see what it was all about.
THIS IS MY OBSERVATION. Surfers, those looking for a Couch, will not see it this way because, read on.
How i see it: The main reason for becoming a couch-"surfer" is to travel around the world on a lean budget, they are like Back Packers only they are looking for some one else to pay there way and provide them with a free couch or bed rather than pay for a Hostel. Couchsurfers expect to get it all for free, a free bed and food and all the extra benefits. If the person providing the Couch is stupid enough to offer one as I found out. They are usually here from overseas, on a One or Two year Visa, taking jobs from young Australians.
This is the reason I'm writing this, from my experience.
All seven individual Surfers stayed with me over several weeks, only one from France was lovely and gave me appreciation, I had many requests, because there are a lot of Bludger's out there especially coming from Europe.
They eat your food, use all your toilet paper, tap into your Whirless and sit on your couch for half a day looking for work on there Notepads, and when they leave they don't give you a reference on the Couchsurfing site or say thank you, they are all individuals and adapt there own ways. some go for a walk around and arrive back just before dinner time, I always offered them food,as i could not eat in front of them. If they ever bring back something to eat its usually Junk crap.
There was one request in particular who stands out above all the others, this is what happened, because I had one Surfer sleeping in a single bed and another on the couch, I replied to another request, feeling sorry for this girl, her request was touching, because I had two people at the time, Half in a Joke and also thinking she was in need of a bed i sent her a reply.
This is what I wrote to her through the response section other Couchsurfers do not see this, My couch and single bed are occupied I can offer you my double bed but you will have to sleep with me. rather than sleep on the floor. Well what i got for my offer was a NEGATIVE, for all to see, I could not believe it, In Couchsurfing you are Guilty until proved innocent, I did not get a chance to defend myself. I was made to look like a monster.
Had I been a young man i believe she would have accepted, and responded nicely.
The Company provides a place on the Profile for people to respond, about each other, with a NEGATIVE, NUTRAL or POSITIVE, I could not believe what
I got, a NEGATIVE for all to see, without being able to defend my self, I have not had a Nutral or Positive when they leave, this young lass lashed out.
Step out of line you generous old timers and see what you get, the younger generation, free loaders give you. Nothing, givers like myself do not have a say, it is only the takers who matter.
So be wary as I have found out you can not joke any more in this world we live in, as an older Man. So long as you are young it is accepted but only for the younger generation, with each other they can have orgy parties where they fuck each other and behave like idiots, see the University parties on the Internet.
Let this be a Lesson to you older Australians, don't joke with the younger generation, especially if they are Couchsurfers from Sweden.

I must add i looked up the definition in my Dictionary Name "Bitch" it says a bitch is a malicious, spiteful, or arrogant ,domineering woman, This does not relate to all women. Just those who know it.
